I don't believe in God in the biblical sense of the word (pun intended). Word has it that the Sun, being 93 million miles away, cannot shoot out a flare that can vaporize the Earth. Venus & Mars are much closer & have received their share of solar flares & they still exist. There is, however, a strong possibility that the existing political climate(s) combined with irrationality in our world could start WWIII & the exchange of thermonuclear weapons & the result will be what you see at the end of this movie. So we can worry about some Supreme Ruler who created the world in seven days & then decide to suddenly torch it, or we can endeavor to prevent such a 100% man-made scenario.

This movies needs a remake with a big budget and better acting and a more detailed scenario. they should have showed us inside the other time bubble.

I just watched it. It was definitely a fun movie. But, as you mentioned, a lot of flaws there. Also a lot of questions arisen. Why they didn't show us the evolved man rescued and why they left the primitive humans. They were just primitive. Cara was acting primitive (in the perspective of the evolved human) when she was trying to stop the evolved man from taking Taylor inside the fountain of youth. and even in the moment of entering through the invisible wall, time should be different for the body parts still outside (I don't know if this explained and I missed it)

The biblical picture found in Imbry’s cabin was the biblical Ezekiel watching the ‘wheel’. Ufology theorises that the ‘wheel’ is a UFO. There are a number of historical references in art, literature, religious texts to those bright lights in the sky not as ‘god’ or other deities, but as UFOs; far more plausible than magical religious entities. I am surprised neither you nor the movie picked up on this. You can google all of this. Especially fascinating is this theory evident in religious artwork.

It took 5 plus years to make. it was efficiency in the studio's eye (impatiently of course). As they sewed every single costume by HAND. Intentionally as they were re-establishing the craft of the original amazing movie. but suits in offices sadly don't get it even 44 years later.......

I have an annoucement : Soon I will start filming some fan made scenes based on the cancelled zack snyder's justice league 2 to 3 storyboard using stop motion. I might will fix some of the flaws on the storyboard and use my own vision to make the scene better (don't worry I ain't no joss whedirt). The first script is ready and its a fight scene.
